Yes, for now. The June 2026 announcement from Shopify applies to US merchants only. UK vape retailers are not affected by the current policy. That said, the US move is a strong signal that Shopify is willing to remove entire categories under regulatory pressure. If you are a UK vape retailer on Shopify, it is worth planning for the possibility of a similar UK policy in future rather than being caught unprepared.
For most UK vape retailers, we recommend Magento 2 with Hyvä or WooCommerce. Both are self-hosted, which means no platform can unilaterally remove your products the way Shopify can.
