This established lingerie and swimwear retailer had been tied to a bespoke platform and the agency that built it for years. The relationship had run its course and the site was showing its age. It was slow, difficult to manage and unable to grow with the business. We migrated the entire operation onto a bespoke Hyvä Magento 2 build, giving them a platform they owned and a team they could trust.



A clean break from a bespoke system with no safety net
Migrating from a proprietary bespoke platform is rarely straightforward. There are no standard export tools, no documentation and no help from the outgoing agency. We mapped the existing data structures, extracted product and customer data cleanly, and rebuilt the catalogue in Magento 2. Every category and product variant came across intact.
The impact we made


Sizes, colours and URL structures handled properly
Lingerie presents a specific ecommerce challenge: products come in a large matrix of sizes and colours, each with its own URL, stock level and merchandising requirement. We managed the URL architecture carefully to protect organic search rankings throughout the migration, merged duplicate and fragmented product listings, and cleaned up years of inconsistent product data. The result is a catalogue that is accurate, fast to browse and easy for the team to maintain.



Decoupling eBay and Amazon from the core site
The previous agency had built multi-channel selling (eBay and Amazon listings) directly into the bespoke platform, creating a fragile dependency. We separated this entirely, integrating Channel Advisor to handle marketplace selling independently of the ecommerce site. Each channel now operates on the right tool for the job, without putting the core site at risk when marketplace rules or requirements change.


A frontend that finally matched the quality of the products
The bespoke Hyvä theme we designed puts the product photography front and centre, with a clean, editorial feel that suits a retailer stocking premium brands. Page speed improved significantly across the board, with mobile performance in particular showing the gains that matter most for a fashion audience that shops predominantly on phone. The site is faster, easier to navigate and easier for the team to merchandise.
