Apple Intelligence is the latest innovation from the tech giant who have just announced that they are introducing AI into their devices. It’s been a long time coming, with many industry buffs speculating at why Apple have taken so long to launch an AI product when OpenAI catapulted ChatGPT into the mainstream back in 2022. But now its here, we’re all pretty excited about how the tech will impact our everyday lives and of course, the ecommerce industry. Without further ado, let’s jump in!

What Is Apple Intelligence?

Put simply, Apple Intelligence isn’t actually a new product. Apple Intelligence is the incorporation of ChatGPT into Apple’s devices from iPhones and iPads all the way to Macs and Macbooks. The smart software will be available with the new iOS 18 iPhone update which is set to launch this autumn. Here’s how Tim Cook introduced Apple Intelligence..

Apple Intelligence is a suite of advanced, AI-powered tools designed to enhance writing, communication, and productivity across Apple devices. It features capabilities like automatic summarisation, content rewriting, and proofreading, making it easier to manage and optimise written content. Additionally, it includes image creation tools and improved notification systems to streamline operations. Integrated deeply into Apple’s ecosystem, these tools work seamlessly across apps while prioritising user privacy and data security. Apple Intelligence aims to revolutionise everyday tasks and improve user interactions with their devices.

Interestingly, the main focus of the announcement was largely regarding privacy, which is unsurprising amid the recent privacy concerns surrounding AI; By processing data locally rather than sending it to remote servers, Apple Intelligence minimises the risk of unauthorised access or data leaks. This approach not only reassures users about the confidentiality of their personal information but also sets a new standard for ethical AI development in an era where privacy is increasingly paramount.
