The city is buzzing with excitement as a royal wedding comes to Chester!
As many of you already know, our web design studio in Chester is based within the historic walls of the beautiful city! And this week, the whole town is awash with excitement thanks to a royal wedding (in every way but name) coming to the city. The Duke of Westminster is set to wed on Friday 7th June in Chester Cathedral and it’s going to be quite the occasion!
Decorating The City
The Duke himself is providing over 100,000 flowers to adorn the streets of Chester for the summer. Usually Chester’s Summer Flowers Project is funded by Chester BID but this year, the Duke has sponsored the flowers which will include vibrant pollinators and blooms to beautify the city and increase biodiversity. If you’re local, get ready for the city to become a giant bouquet of colourful flowers!
The Wedding Venue
The iconic Chester Cathedral will be the backdrop for the wedding of the year. The cathedral as we know it today dates back to 1541, making it almost 500 years old but the site has held churches of some kind for almost one thousand years; Making it an extremely significant landmark within the city. The cathedral’s significance and grandeur will undoubtedly create a beautiful wedding that the city should be extremely proud of!
Exciting Guests!
Perhaps the element that some of us are most excited about is the fact that Prince William will be an important element of the wedding as he is an usher! Not only that, Prince George is also set to be in attendance alongside many other exciting guests so the city is truly excited to welcome royals to our beloved Chester.
We can’t wait to see our city in the spotlight very soon! Keep up with our Blog for the latest Chester updates.
