5 Places in Chester We Can’t Wait to Rush Back to After Lockdown

Matt Briggs

Right now, for everyone life is anything but normal!

With all the shops, restaurants, bars and other leisure facilities closed, many of us are beginning to miss our social freedom as we remain inside until it is safe to do otherwise. Staying home and social distancing is vital in reducing the further spread of coronavirus and saving lives. So whilst we self isolate with video calls, a copious amount of Netflix and not much else do to, we thought we’d give you all something to look forward to and share 5 of Chester gems that we cannot wait to go rushing back to once all of this is blown over. Come and daydream with us!

Chester Market

A hub of all things delicious, the Chester Market had become increasingly popular over the past year thanks to its independent eateries and bars. With an amazing, bustling atmosphere; we’re missing the great vibes as well as the tasty food. With Death By Tacos, That Beer Place, Stile Napoletano and Vinological all on standby, we can’t wait to be back once lockdown is over.

Jaunty Goat

Jaunty Goat is an obvious favourite of ours, and not just because their recently launched site was crafted by yours truly, but because they make one of the best cuppa o’ joes available in the Chester City Centre. With their delicious menu and chilled, laid back atmosphere, we can’t wait to return. However, we don’t have to miss them too much as their online shop is still open and taking orders so, if like us you’re craving their perfect roast, click here to browse their store.

Storyhouse

Storyhouse consists of everything you would need for a day of culture, and we’re certainly missing it during lockdown. With a theatre, cinema, library and restaurant inside, we cannot wait to see what is has planned for when we can all return.

Alexander’s

A great venue for music and beer loves alike, Alexander’s has put on many good gigs and shows over the years and is the epicentre of great vibes and good times. With all of their upcoming gigs having to be cancelled until the foreseeable, we’re excited to see what they have in store when we all return.

Commonhall Social

A frequent choice for Friday Beers, we can’t wait for Commonhall Social to reopen their doors. With the best selection of beer and ciders, as well as a dog-friendly policy, we’re hoping to return their beer garden so we can soak up some of that summer sun before it runs away for another year.

Although we can daydream all we want, for now it’s vital we follow the current public health guidelines and stay indoors. This isn’t forever, and soon we’ll be able to visit our favourite places once more! Till then, stay safe!
