Creating a property website with a difference

When independent estate agents Carman Friend approached us to take over running their existing site, we were more than happy to help. After several improvements and discussions, we knew there was more we could do. It was inevitable, really… Carman Friend’s site was getting a Limely-style revamp.

Breathing life into the site…

Our designer Adam wanted to take Carman Friend’s existing colours and bring them to life. He cleverly curated a much cleaner, sleeker design to really showcase the Carman Friend branding. To shake things up a bit, we opted for a combination of dark, enticing visuals with effective white space. The use of video on the homepage is a feature we really love – it really sets Carman Friend aside from the usual static estate agent websites.

Optimising property search

We combine seamless UI and UX

Of course, we knew that searching for a property would be the number one reason for users visiting the site. Therefore, we slapped a nice, big, easy-to-use property search function in the middle of the homepage.

We integrated with cloud-based software, Expert Agent, to create unique and powerful property listings. We also added more visual-first features to the property search page and made it easier to navigate.

Let us know if you’ve ever seen this before on an estate agent site because we certainly haven’t! As you’re reading through your chosen property’s page, you can view an image of each room next to its individual description. No more guessing which photo in the gallery is ‘Bedroom 1’ and which one is ‘Bedroom 2’. Clever, right?

Love it? Add it to your wishlist

Along with all the other incredible features we added to Carman Friend’s site, we thought it was pretty important to add wishlist functionality, too. This is standard practice for sites like Right Move and we knew this would give the estate agents an edge over local competition.

Users simply click the heart symbol on any property and it’s automatically added to a neat little Wish List that follows you around the site. It doesn’t require a log-in and anyone can do it. Once you’re happy with your chosen properties, you can request viewings on all of them with one quick form. It’s on-brand and completely unique to the Chester estate agent market.

Did someone say mobile?

The Carman Friend site is ultra-responsive and looks just as great on mobile. It also works just as well, too. All of our favourite features, like the hover effects and text transitions, aren’t compromised on mobile.
