Oh yes, it’s one of the most polarising days of the year. The Marmite day, if you will. Some of us love it and embrace it, others can’t wait for it to be over. But one thing’s for certain, it’s a great opportunity for brands to push their products and services. In light of this, we’ve decided to round up some of our favourite Valentine’s marketing campaigns of 2019. The actual okay ones, not the naff ones. No one wants that. 💞

Sorry, but, Love Sausage – enough said. Jokes aside, Marks and Spencer, or should we say Hearts & Spencer, have really gone all-out this year with their Valentine’s marketing.

No-one is going to complain about a heart-shaped pizza, so Papa John’s have hit the nail on the head with this one. We love gimmicks, especially food-related ones. After all, why do we always have to take Valentine’s Day so seriously?

Again, more heart-shaped food – yes please! We really don’t feel like brands need to always make a song and dance about Valentine’s Day but a little nod to the holiday is always welcome. Heart-shaped doughnuts sound perfect and can be enjoyed by anyone, taken or not.

Let’s be real, Valentine’s isn’t always sunshine and roses. Some people hate it. And we love that Missguided is using the less talked about side of Valentine’s to promote a competition. Plus, if you’re feeling sad on V-Day, a £100 voucher would deffo cheer you up.
We were pretty underwhelmed with Valentine’s marketing campaigns this year but we think it’s probably for the best. As far as we’re concerned, heart-shaped food is as far as it should go!
