Deciding if Magento is right for you

Maybe you’ve got a successful ecommerce store, or perhaps you’re just beginning to get one off the ground. Wherever you are on your journey, it’s important to choose your ecommerce platform wisely.

If your goal is to increase conversions, retain loyal customers and improve the overall user experience of your ecommerce shop, different platforms can generate different results. And if you’ve been using the same one for years but it’s no longer working for you, it’s not too late to switch. Better late than never 😎

A slow website is something you definitely want to avoid. It’s 2019! And this doesn’t just apply to ecommerce. Slower load times than a user would expect is likely to end in them clicking away from your site. However, if we are focusing on ecommerce, it’s recommended that you opt for cloud native platforms (a platform that can integrate and combine with cloud services) to offer the most speed and flexibility. Yes, Magento is cloud-native.

If you’re using a platform that isn’t cloud native, you could be spending more time managing different cloud vendors and your website may be incapable of coping with high traffic surges and performing quickly in the cloud.

Do you need more flexibility?

Businesses are constantly changing, as is the digital environment. So when you put the two together, it’s clear that you need flexibility. If you want your online space to constantly adapt to your business’ needs, you’ll want to add new features and change processes as you go along. This might include hiring a development team to change and add code.

We always suggest being wary of agencies that are producing Magento websites for less than five figures. However, WooCommerce is a less expensive option that can work just as well for smaller retail businesses. The WordPress plugin is great for:

  • Small to medium-sized businesses
  • Beginners to ecommerce
  • Anyone who has experience using WordPress (or willing to learn!)
  • Those with a smaller budget who want to test the waters before committing
