A Day in the life
To give you a taste of what life at Limely might be like as our new Magento Developer, we thought we’d give you a little sneak peek into a general day in the life.
Obviously, things are a bit different at the moment as the team are still working from home due to COVID-19, but with our tight-knit team and laid back dynamic, you’ll still be able to benefit from all the perks of being a member of team Limely.
So, here’s what your day might look like…
Every morning will start with opening your Harvest time tracker and jumping on Zoom for a quick meeting. Here, not only will you get to see the lovely faces of your other team members, but go through your daily schedule with Operations Manager Matt.
Although we’re all available via Slack throughout the day, this is also a good time to ask any burning questions whilst you have the whole team’s attention.
Here at Limely, we use Jira and organise our tasks into tickets so you can set apart some time to prioritise your tasks in terms of urgency and estimated duration. Once you’ve got a good schedule under your belt, you can crack on!
But woah, hold on a sec! There’s been a call come through from a client with an emergency issue with their payment gateway! As you know, this would cause major disruption for their Magento 2 store so it would be up to you to quickly provide a solution by launching an urgent investigation.
After you had your lightbulb moment, deployed a patch and conversed with the client who says everything is back up and running, you can hear a distant brew calling your name. Time for a tea break!
After you plough through your tickets on Jira and revel in the great feeling of dragging and dropping them into ‘Live/Done’, you can switch on your Slack ‘Do not disturb’ and focus your attention on a 2-hour investigation ticket for one of our many clients.
Focusing all your attention on whipping up appropriate solutions, as well as chatting with clients, will probably help build up your appetite. Time to pause your Harvest Time Tracker and tuck into some lunch!
When you return, you might find that Limely’s Front-End Developers are ready to discuss some new projects that are in the pipeline like developing the code for a client’s new checkout feature or something else that will help optimise their Magento 2 store.
As it gets closer to finishing time, you end your working day by launching the new code onto a staging environment; ensuring that you identify any potential blips along the way and send a quick message to the rest of the Limely developers asking them if they could take a look at it in the morning.
When you’re happy that everything’s looking ship-shape, you send the team a round-up of your day and wonder what tomorrow will have in store for you!
Sound like an absolute dream? Then this is the job for you!
If you believe our ‘meet the team page’ is just missing your cheesy grin, be ready to show us why! Fill in the form below, or email us at [email protected].
You can also take a look at the incredible benefits that you’ll get by being part of our team…
