Ad’s giving Eliud Kipchoge a run for his money.

As many of you folks know, Matt and Adam have been training super duper hard over the past year for the Manchester Marathon.  However, there have been a few covid-shaped hurdles in this race, which has meant that dates have been pushed back again and again.

We announced in January last year that Limely’s very own Matt and Adam are going to take on the big Manchester Marathon. Since then it has been postponed to April 10th 2021, and more recently, October 2021. Because of this uncertainty, Matt has decided to save it until next year when we can have a real-life audience cheering him on! But Adam is going ahead with this year’s race. We have Limely reps running for both years and they’re doing a great job with the training!

The target for their run is four hours. We thought we’d check in with Adam as the Marathon date looms closer and see how he’s getting on.

How ya feelin’, Ad?

When the race was cancelled back in April 2020, I was gutted as we’d had so many generous donations and months of training had gone into getting ready for the big day. However, I didn’t want to let all that work go to waste so I pushed on. During lockdown, I have kept up my training and managed to complete two marathons on my own steam with a PB of 3hr 26m. Now all the nerves have gone away for the Manchester Marathon so I feel like I can just enjoy it. The plan now is to keep training, try to avoid injury and squeeze in one more marathon for good luck before the big day.

We couldn’t be prouder of Matt and Adam for all of their efforts and self-discipline put into such a great cause. Whether they run this year or the next, their efforts have been incredible. So far, Matt and Adam have raised a whopping 74% of their target – that’s £1,110!

Things have been on pause during the pandemic, but now they’re back and more determined than ever. There’s only 10 weeks to go before the big day and £390 standing in the way of their target.

Matt and Adam are super grateful to everyone who has donated so far. But now the countdown begins, so make sure to donate while you can!
